--FishScape--

Here's a little project I'm working on slowly, working title is FishScape. The story behind it is pretty simple: A buddy of mine plays Runescape a lot, he enjoys the fishing aspect of it and he said he always wanted a fishing RPG. I asked in TeamSpeak one day if anyone had ideas for a game to work on and he chimed in and said "Make a fishing RPG!" So I am. I'll include a quick list of features the game will include below this video demo of it.

  • Open world
  • Dynamic Terrain
  • Boats
  • Inventory system with different rods/catch rates for items
  • No health, just a stamina system
  • Dynamic objects (interact with many world objects)
  • 2.5d Depth System (fake 3d)
  • NPC's to interact with
  • Display your fish in your home with a fish tank!
  • Earn money to buy special items
No multiplayer aspect is envisioned at the moment, but if this game gets ported to unity for one of my future company's bigger projects I'd like to see it take on an MMO aspect. I hope you enjoy what you've seen so far.

As stated in the video, all graphics and sounds that were not created by me are credited in the game.

With Great Risk Comes Great Reward...

See the little guy up there ^ ? That's the beginning of my adventure and my story. I've been sitting around for too long saying "I'll do it later." I am disappoint. I'm no longer waiting for things, good or bad, to happen to me - instead I'm going to pursue the life I've wanted to live since I grabbed that SNES controller 15 or so years ago.

Dead end jobs, school, factory work - none of that bullshit. I'm diving into this for realsies and I'm lucky enough to have a good friend who is willing to take the risks with me, but we will come out on top.

Mark. My. Words.

This blog will be for my personal creations, updates on games that I make for non profit release, sprites, sounds, code, anything I feel worthy of releasing. I'm on a mission to perfect my knowledge of gameplay engineering, level design, program flow, and share it with other humans.

There is a donate button over there > don't even think about clicking it unless you decide to believe in this stranger you've only just discovered, and if you do, know that it will literal allow me to continue pursuing this dream, and it is very much appreciated...thank you.
